For a construction company in St. John’s, holding up traffic is nothing out of the ordinary. Their “flagperson” on the other hand is anything but ordinary. She goes by the name of Jackie. She’s a 50 year old working mother and probably the only person in construction that wants to make your wait in traffic as pleasurable as possible. She goes out of her way to give people directions around the construction site, always keeps doggy treats in her pocket just in case, and engages in friendly conversation with anyone passing by the site. Her employer loves her. Rather than getting complaints about the construction, they receive compliments about St. John’s favourite flagperson.
